Botanical paintings

Growing up living near the bush has given me an appreciation of our Native flora. Each painting is a celebration of the beauty of our native flowers and their distinct forms. Each piece is painted in many layers of oil paint, each building upon the previous one to evoke a sense of depth within the flower and imitate real life. I’ve offset this realism with a playful background in block colour to highlight the striking presence of the flower and to bring joy.
